Interpretation
Operating in the translation market since 1991, we have encountered many situations in which our interpreters have carried out interpretation in various, often non-standard forms. We pride ourselves on our excellent quality, precision and vast experience. We serve clients in many languages of the world and in almost every industry. We work with professional interpreters and proofreaders who specialise in standard areas as well as niche and specialist fields.

Brilliance
Interpreting requires a number of skills from the interpreter, not just perfect knowledge of the language. A person involved in this type of interpreting must certainly be characterised by good reflexes.
The nature of this work requires vigilance and the ability to react quickly to unusual situations and unusual terms. Textbook linguistic knowledge will not work when dealing with industry discourse or even industry humour.
The interpreter must quickly determine the context of the speech, pay attention to the tone and often even the facial expressions of the speaker. All these elements are extremely important for interpreting to be done correctly.
While these skills can certainly be honed by working long hours in the profession, in order to work as an interpreter you also need to work on your personal development, shrewdness and freedom to act in stressful situations.
Diplomacy
Interpreters should also be diplomats of sorts, and a little more so than translators. Knowledge of diplomatic protocol, or savoir-vivre rules, is essential in this profession.
Interpreting also requires extensive general knowledge and familiarity with the cultural code used by the people you work with. Knowledge of the customs, but also of the history and complexity of neighbourly relations of the nations concerned should be an inviolable standard in the interpreter’s work.
Not knowing the rules of a country and not taking into account, for example, the customs in that country, will at best lead to misunderstanding, but can also have more serious consequences. You will interpret the statements of people from a Euro-American culture differently from those from the Far East or the Middle East.
Tact
While this skill is innate in many people, those doing interpretation should certainly work with it and develop it. Many situations require delicacy and consideration of the intentions of the speaker.
The freedom to act in this type of situation certainly comes from experience, but without the ability to empathise, the interpreter may not be up to the task.
As Lingua Nova Translation Agency, we are aware of the challenges faced by those involved in verbal translation. That is why we have launched an internal educational project called the Academy for Lecturers and Translators. The academy brings together translators, working in the Translation Agency, and language techers in the Lingua Nova Group. This project aims to improve the professional competences of those working with us, but also to exchange experiences and juxtapose different points of view and cultural codes, as we have the pleasure of working with people from all over the world.
Lingua Nova Translation Agency provides interpreting services in many languages of the world and in any field. We provide simultaneous, consecutive and assisted interpreting as well as standard and certified (authenticated) interpreting. We co-operate with interpreters specialising in a given field, e.g.: economic, financial, legal, medical, pharmaceutical, technical, marketing, advertising and many others.
Interpretation and Translation Eagles
We are a winner of the Translation Eagles plebiscite. This plebiscite was created to recognise the best companies on the market – leaders in their respective industries. These companies set the direction, focus on continuous development and improvement of qualifications. In the plebiscite, the most important votes are verifiable opinions on reliable portals – in this case Google. The participants giving their opinions are not anonymous. Thank you very much for your trust. It is very important to us that we received the award thanks to your votes.
